In celebration of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, we’ll be sharing some of our favorite tips to help keep your identity and data safe from hackers.

Your mobile device (smartphone and tablet, for example) should also be secured against data theft. Here’s how you can keep your identity and personal information safe on your mobile device:

– Secure your phone – Enable a strong passcode, screen pattern, or touch ID to lock your phone.

– Investigate apps – Before you download an app: review the privacy policy, understand what the app can access on your phone, and be sure that you’re downloading it from a trusted source.

– Keep your device up to date – Be sure to download the latest updates for your phone and your apps. Updates often contain patches and fixes that help keep your device protected.

– Wipe your device – Before you recycle or sell your phone, reset it or restore to factory settings. This will clean all personal data from the device.
