As communicated earlier this summer, we are enhancing campus internet connections this month.

  • A security enhancement has been performed for wired devices (e.g., your desktop computer).
    • You might be prompted to enter your Roanoke College username/password upon entering a web browser if your device cannot be identified on the wired network.
    • This is a one-time authentication and will not be required again.
  • New wifi networks will go into effect Wednesday, August 5th.
    • This will require you to reconnect any wireless device to our network.

Beginning Wednesday, August 5th, you will see these wifi network options:

ConnectToRC
Use this network to connect these devices:

  • Faculty, staff, and students will be prompted for your Roanoke College username/password and connected to a secure wireless network called RCS.
  • Guests will be prompted for information and sent a temporary passcode via email or mobile text to be connected with the secure wireless network called RCG.

RCMedia
Use this network to connect gaming and other devices:

xBox 360 xBox One Playstation 4 Playstation 3
Playstation Vita Apple TV Roku Chromecast
  • A preshared key will be required to make a connection
  • You will have to “enroll” your device onto the network
