Changes to Wifi and Wired Network Connections – Effective August 5, 2015
As communicated earlier this summer, we are enhancing campus internet connections this month.
- A security enhancement has been performed for wired devices (e.g., your desktop computer).
- You might be prompted to enter your Roanoke College username/password upon entering a web browser if your device cannot be identified on the wired network.
- This is a one-time authentication and will not be required again.
- New wifi networks will go into effect Wednesday, August 5th.
- This will require you to reconnect any wireless device to our network.
Beginning Wednesday, August 5th, you will see these wifi network options:
ConnectToRC
Use this network to connect these devices:
- Windows Laptops using:
- Mac Laptops using:
- Android Phones and Tablets
- iPads and iPhones
- Faculty, staff, and students will be prompted for your Roanoke College username/password and connected to a secure wireless network called RCS.
- Guests will be prompted for information and sent a temporary passcode via email or mobile text to be connected with the secure wireless network called RCG.

Use this network to connect gaming and other devices:

Playstation Vita | Apple TV | Roku | Chromecast |
- A preshared key will be required to make a connection
- You will have to “enroll” your device onto the network
